Jonathan Meese, “Ezra Pound”

Jonathan Meese first gained international recognition at the inaugural Berlin Biennial in 1998. Working in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, installation, video and performance, Meese’s work creates bizarre worlds where historical figures and narratives intertwine in a helter-skelter blender with totally random pop cultural references.

For his first performance in Canada, Meese has conceived of a puppet show, The Humpty Dumpty Revolution of Dictatorship of Art. The event will take place on Saturday, October 4th at the Powerplant Contemporary Gallery .
